Hi volunteers and board members,

It has been so busy around here that I have barely had time to come up 
for air and share all the good news!!!    First of all,  THANK YOU for 
your continued commitment to making the store a huge success!  This is a 
hard time for our artisans worldwide due to increasing costs for food, 
fuel, materials and just about everything else.  The economy isn't so 
great here either, which makes it all the more fun to share good news....

*We have set new sales records for every month this year so far and it 
looks like we'll do it May as well!
*We had our best Fair Trade Day sales ever - over $4200!!!!  That is 
almost $1000 more than the previous record set in 2004.
*Our bag sale was also very successful with sales of nearly $4000.
*Our total sales through the end of April were about 14% higher than 
last year!!!
*The fundraiser was also really successful and will allow us to do even 
more educaiton and outreach.  We raised $6375 including employer 
matching gifts!
*Duke Chapel has also pledged a grant of $5000 to bring an artist in 
residence to the store.  Jenny will be working on the logisitics for 
that when she is in Uganda and Tanzania this summer.

The store is truly a team effort and every hour you give helps us to 
support more artisans.  Your purchases and donations also make a huge 
difference.  We will be doing a shop and share night for Threshold this 
Thursday and we did one last week for Kayla's Closet.  Thanks you so 
much for making our store able to reach out to other nonprofits in this 
way.  Jenny, Maggie and I want you to know how much your help means to 
us.  Thank you again!
