[owm] Thank you vols/extended hours

Thank you all so much for making last night's holiday volunteer, friends 
& family party such a great success!  We had a terrific turnout and it 
was nice to see old friends catching up with each other and new friends 
meeting for the first time.  Special thanks to Jessica Pitner who 
coordinated the party (great job Jessica!) and to all the volunteers and 
board members who brought food and drink and who helped clean up.  
Thanks also for shopping.  You brought us about $1600 closer to holiday 
sales goals.  Speaking of which, for those of you want more specific 
information than just great, great great, our total sales for the year 
as of last night was $358,844, which means that we only have $41,159 
left to go to break our goal of $400,000.  Our best year to date was 
2000 when sales totalled $387,418.  We have been averaging about 
$4,000/day so far in December and I expect that to keep going up till 
Christmas (did I mention that there are only 11 shopping days left 
including today?) so we should have no trouble making this our best year 
ever.  This is a team effort and the store could never be this 
successful without all of your help and support.

Next week, we have decided to stay open till 8:00pm every night starting 
Monday.  If you have a moment to spare, please feel free to drop by and 
help out.  We have been having big rushes right at closing all week and 
haven't been able to close at 6:00 most days anyway, so we figured we'd 
go with the flow.  i am about to send out a note to our customer 
listserv announcing the extended hours.
