I just wanted to let everybody know that some of my emails from June and 
July got diverted into an inbox I didn't know existed (it was created 
when I changed ISPs).  I think I have now replied to all those emails, 
but if you didn't get a response from me or if I seemed like I didn't 
get a response from you, please let me know.  The problem is now fixed.

Hi Laura,

Just an update on the VW issue.

lightyearsip.net are in discussion on the wording of a license 
agreement. It
may cost us a few $100 but they are very confident that VW will issue a
license to continue selling them. They seem to be at the stage of detail, I
think in principle VW have agreed to issue a license. We are trying to get
the license issued to the Artisans or at least TEMAK as an Exporter, so 
that
they can supply anyone and not just Global Crafts in the future. We have
never believed that we should hold any form of intellectual property rights
or exclusivity agreements over artisans, we want them to be free to sell as
many crafts as possible. We do not want this to effect another Fair Trader
in the future. Apparently TTV's agreement was a short term license that 
just
allowed them to clear inventory.
We are optimistic that we will achieve this, the only problem may be the
timeframe of 14 days, if we do not get the consent of artisans in 
writing we
may have to take the license ourselves. Anyway Peter from Lightyearsip.net
seems very confident that we will get an agreement we can live with.
